FAQ

Are services covered by insurance?

​Registered Social Workers are often covered under extended health benefits, please check with your insurance provider to inquire about individual coverage.  Receipts may also be submitted under personal medical deduction on your income tax.


How much do services cost?

The standard fee for service is $120 per therapeutic hour, which is 50 minutes.  Payment is due at the time of service.  Accepted methods of payment include cash, cheque, etransfer and major credit cards. 


what happens if i miss a session or need to cancel?

All cancellations must be made 24 hours before your scheduled appointment.  If you miss an appointment or do not provide 24 hours notice the full fee will be charged for the missed session.  


What can I expect during the first session?

At the first appointment all clients are asked to sign an agreement of confidentiality, an understanding of the cancellation policy along with an agreement for fees charged.  Following this you will be asked to share your current concerns, your expectations for working together and your goals for therapy.  The first session will be used to evaluate the needs of you, your child and/or your family and to discuss treatment recommendations for moving forward and working together.


How long will i attend therapy for?

Treatment times will vary by individual and can be discussed at the outset of the relationship and evaluated as things progress. Frequency of appointments can be discussed and decided upon by the child and family to meet individual needs and goals.


Confidentiality is key to any therapeutic relationship and i respect privacy and confidentiality at all times.  Disclosure of personal information will require signed consent by both the individual and the family, if applicable.  Exceptions to confidentiality include disclosure of risk of harm to self or others, SUSPICION of child abuse or when required by court order.
